I initially made this blog for venting purposes. I mean, if both my shrink and my sponsor agrees on an idea without ever having met each other then what's the harm in trying?

But what did I have to read about today? The fucking Alabama abortion bill.
The HB 314 is the "most restrictive" bill regarding women's rights to choose thus far. And I really mean thus far. Because it's only going to get worse. And before this was Georgia with the bill that bans abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected. "We must protect life at all stages," said Governer Brian Kemp, who completely gives no fucks about children once they're actually born. The logistics of whether or not the child will be born into a family not ready to have them or to a woman who was raped completely eluded him.
It would be different if these politicians actually cared about life. The nitty-gritty would have been discussed and deliberated and the potential harm to women would be accounted for and factored in the decision-making. If they cared enough, they would listen to the women in their lives. They would listen to the activists protesting for the right to choose.
But they don't. They didn't care enough like in Iowa, where a similar bill was ruled unconstitutional. They saw a way to strike at the core of their opponents' policies and took it. They don't care that by restricting a woman's basic rights, they effectively force these women to seek out unsafe options like intentional overdose and underground clinics. And there are more than these two options. Because if there was a universal truth that applies to all of humanity, it would be this: Desperate people gets creative.
Take the Human Right Watch's take on this matter. We have the Dominican Republic as an example for this. What do they call it? Discrimination. Violation of human rights. They called for a decriminalization for, at the very least, when the life of the woman was in danger, in the case of rape and incest, or when the fetus is "incompatible with life".
If they cared so much about life, then they would care about the women. Because guess what? Women are alive too. We're people too. But God forbid we be heard. We're "hysterical" and "ugly" and "aggressive" for giving a fuck. And I'm so mad about this,so mad my anger has left me. I only have despair towards the system that have made all of this possible.
So a big thank you to the GOP. Seriously. This wouldn't be possible without you. You deserve a nice medal for this, likely something made by Trump TM line of polishable turd.
